My teammates and I are devastated by the recent tragedy that struck Daise, a dog we rescued and adopted a year ago. Our excitement quickly turned into heartbreak when Daise, pregnant with her first litter, went through a difficult labor, resulting in the loss of both her puppies. Watching her mourn beside their tiny grave was heart-wrenching. She licked their bodies and even tried to dig them up, unable to accept their passing. We had to gently intervene, offering her comfort and support during this agonizing time. Daise’s refusal to eat or drink further reflected the depth of her sorrow.
We continue to surround Daise with love and care, hoping that time will help her heal.
