Yet, every day, tens of thousands of these four-legged companions are left to fend for themselves on the streets, and it absolutely breaks my heart.
The last story of abandonment I encountered was particularly devastating. Blanquita, a tiny dog born with a neurological disorder, was found in a trash bag. It’s hard to put into words the level of disappointment and sadness that overwhelmed me.
