An hour later, HR called in the coworker who witnessed the lunchroom conversation, followed by others who witnessed the confrontation. After that, they interviewed those who had written letters but weren’t at the lunchroom incident. By around 3:30 pm, it seemed they had interviewed everyone who wrote a letter or was present in the lunchroom.
Around 4:30 pm, Jill was called into HR once more. As 5 pm approached, with everyone either leaving or preparing to do so, Jill stormed back into the office. She directed hostile glares at me while hastily packing up her desk. She began spreading accusations in anger, claiming I caused her termination, then shoved her way onto the lift.
Shortly thereafter, I received an email from HR, informing me that my case had been closed.
