Hope For Paws received a distress call about a sick, homeless dog living on the U.S.-Mexico border. The dog was in desperate need of medical care, and its condition was deteriorating quickly.
When rescuers arrived, they spoke with the man who had called. They learned that the dog had grown attached to the man’s pets and lingered in the area. Although the man did his best to feed the dog regularly, it was clear the dog needed far more than just food.
Using food as an initial lure, the rescuers gently placed a leash around the dog’s neck. They decided to name this sweet dog “Pax.”
Without putting up any resistance, Pax allowed them to pick him up and place him in their vehicle. Being rescued at last brought him both joy and relief.
The team rushed him to the veterinary hospital, where Pax received treatment for a range of ailments, including skin infections, ear and eye infections, mange, and open wounds.
Pax remained calm and cooperative, allowing them to treat his injuries and even bathe him with medicated solutions to help heal his skin.
Soon after, the Forgotten Dog Foundation stepped in to help Pax find a loving forever home. He made a remarkable recovery—his wounds healed, and his fur grew back. Now, Pax is a stunning, healthy dog, thrilled to be with his new family, who showers him with love and care.
