“I’ve been locked in an ongoing debate with my partner for nearly six months now, and it feels like there’s no end in sight.
Let me give you some background: I’m a 23-year-old woman with naturally fair skin. Unfortunately, I also have pretty dark body hair, which can be a real hassle to manage. I shave my legs, but within just two days, those dark prickles start to emerge. If I try to shave again too soon, I end up with painful razor burn, so I have to wait about a week and a half before I can shave again. It’s been a source of frustration for me for quite some time, especially during warmer weather when I have to carefully choose which events I can attend without feeling self-conscious about my legs.

This situation has really affected my confidence and sense of freedom, and it’s a topic that keeps resurfacing in my relationship with my partner.”
This year, I received an invitation to join my partner (28m) at his family’s Christmas Day lunch, which I was genuinely excited about! Additionally, a few days before the lunch, we were invited to a New Year’s Day pool party at his friend’s place. (For those in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s summertime down here!) I must admit, the thought of attending the pool party filled me with dread because I knew my legs wouldn’t look great in a swimsuit by then.
