I’m blind, and I know my looks may not be perfect. People sometimes pass me by, and I can sense that they might feel sorry or uncertain about me.
But what I truly wish for, deep down, is not pity or avoidance. All I really hope for is just a bit of kindness and love from those around me.
Life in the darkness can feel isolating, but I’ve learned to navigate it with resilience and hope. Every sound, every scent brings me comfort, reminding me that there’s beauty in the world, even if I can’t see it. When someone reaches out to pet me, or speaks softly to me, it fills my heart with warmth, making the darkness feel a little brighter.
I may not have the vision to see my surroundings, but I have a heart that feels everything. I can sense compassion, feel the gentle touch of a caring hand, and know when someone offers me love. Those small moments mean the world to me. They remind me that, despite my differences, I am worthy of kindness.
So, to anyone who meets me, I ask you to look beyond what you see—or don’t see—and recognize the spirit within me. I may be blind, and my appearance may not be flawless, but I have a loyal heart and an endless capacity for love. All I really need is a little kindness to make my world feel whole.
