According to SNARR Animal Rescue, Woody, a special dog with a heartwarming story, was attacked by another dog when he was just five weeks old. Tragically, Woody had to “self-medicate without veterinary attention” after the incident. Things worsened when Woody’s owner tied him up and abandoned him. Fortunately, SNARR stepped in and rescued Woody after he had been left alone for six weeks. During that time, he survived thanks to the kindness of neighbors who brought him food.
Woody’s previous family had moved away, leaving him behind. In a Facebook post, SNARR expressed their commitment to remove him from such a loveless environment. Despite his unusual appearance due to a distorted face, Woody was in good health. His rescuers quickly grew to adore him, and rather than being put off by his looks, they loved him even more for his unique charm.
What made Woody even more special was his incredibly loving nature. He formed a deep bond with his foster family almost immediately. Jamie Bond, Woody’s adoptive mother, shared a touching story about how, on Woody’s first day with her, she was ill with a fever. Woody, sensing something was wrong, stayed by her side the entire time, offering comfort and companionship.
Now eight months old, Woody is making up for lost time, enjoying his playful “puppy” phase. Despite his cleft nose, Woody’s endearing personality shines through. SNARR is committed to finding him the perfect forever home and is carefully screening potential adopters to ensure Woody is placed in the best possible environment.
Woody, while affectionate and loving, has a few specific needs. He should be placed in a home without cats, as he enjoys chasing them. Additionally, SNARR recommends that Woody’s new home be female-only and that any other dogs be larger and older than 10 years, given his size and sometimes jumpy behavior.
Though Woody’s journey was filled with hardship, it came to a heartwarming conclusion. SNARR was thrilled to announce that after months of searching, Woody finally found a loving home. Photos shared online show Woody happy with his new family and friends, ready to start a new chapter in his life.
Woody’s story is a testament to the power of compassion and the resilience of animals. Please share his story with your family and friends!
