Stormi was one such dog, facing euthanasia just moments away. Her rescuers had until 2 p.m. to save her, and with time running out, they were determined to act fast.
A Last-Minute Rescue
Lisa Chiarelli from Frankie, Lola and Friends in California and her friend Karla were determined to save Stormi. When they learned that this heavily pregnant dog was scheduled for euthanasia, they rushed to the shelter—and they arrived just in time!
“We had until 2:00 p.m. to get her out. @lisachiarelli and I couldn’t stop thinking about her. We couldn’t let this be the end for her and her babies,” Karla posted on Instagram.
They arrived exactly 47 minutes before Stormi’s scheduled euthanasia, and the joy on Stormi’s face was palpable as she jumped into their car. Despite her discomfort from carrying a litter, she seemed to know that her life was about to change for the better.
Settling Into a New Home
Stormi found refuge with Karla and her pack of foster dogs. Initially, she was placed in a quiet part of the house to help her adjust. Her foster siblings would occasionally visit, but Stormi soon showed her friendly and adaptable nature.
A Litter of Joy
The big day arrived, and Stormi gave birth to eight beautiful puppies—far more than anyone had anticipated! Stormi proved to be an exceptional mother, nurturing her pups with care and love, spending her time in a cozy, private space.
In those weeks, she not only learned the ropes of motherhood but also embraced the joy of having a loving home.
A New Beginning
When her puppies were ready to explore the world outside, Stormi delighted in playing with other dogs and bonding with her new foster family, especially her favorite, Anna, a blind Pit Bull.
Finding Her Forever Home
The pivotal moment came when a family with two kids expressed interest in adopting Stormi. It was love at first sight, and Stormi found her forever home!
Now, Stormi and her puppies have begun a new chapter in their lives. She has blossomed into the cherished princess of her new family, finally living the life she always dreamed of after all her hardships.
