Michael Favor, the founder of Pitbulls and Addicts, a New York-based animal rescue, was shocked when he received a message about a starving dog tied to a fence.
Without hesitation, Michael rushed to save the poor pup.
As he drove to the location, his heart ached with worry for the dog.
When he arrived and saw the helpless pup curled up under a bush, his heart broke.
The dog’s eyes were filled with despair as he silently begged for help.
Teddy, as he was later named, was in terrible condition. Starved and covered in ulcers and infections, he was barely holding on.
Michael quickly untied him and cradled him in his arms, offering much-needed comfort.
As Teddy sniffed his rescuer’s hands, he looked up with incredibly sad eyes, hardly believing he was finally free.
Michael took Teddy to Bay Street Animal Hospital in Staten Island, where he received immediate medical care.
Teddy was hospitalized and started on antibiotics and topical treatments to heal his wounds.

The hospital staff treated Teddy with kindness, showering him with affection and reassuring words. They hoped he would soon forget the hardships he had endured.
As Teddy realized he was finally surrounded by good humans, his eyes began to sparkle with happiness and gratitude.
Every morning, he greeted his caregivers with a wagging tail, spreading joy to everyone at the hospital.
The staff continued to care for him, and Teddy returned their love with sweet kisses.
Day by day, Teddy grew stronger and healthier.
Two weeks after his rescue, Teddy’s ulcers had healed.
Teddy, now full of gratitude, continues to show his appreciation with hugs and kisses for his caregivers.
Once fully recovered, Teddy will move to Pitbulls and Addicts to begin his search for a forever home.
