I’ve rarely encountered a stray dog so friendly that it wanted me to adopt it. More often than not, these dogs are either too scared to approach or simply uninterested. The hardships they’ve faced have led them to believe they can never live a normal life.
But this wasn’t the case for one sweet dog who noticed someone special and decided she wanted to meet her.
A Fateful Event
When Nina first moved to her new town, it was to prepare for a professional tournament. Her daily routine was predictable, and she didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary to happen.
But life has a way of surprising us when we least expect it. As she was going about her usual routine, a friendly stray dog approached her. Nina was thrilled to meet her, and it was clear the dog liked her too—it was simply adorable.
Nina told The Dodo, “She would start running up to me. To see how much she trusted me, I just started to fall in love with her.”
They met daily, and their bond grew stronger with each interaction. It was clear that the dog, now named Nips, wanted to be with Nina.
Nips Is Carrying a Surprise
One day, as they were meeting up again, a security guard chased the dog away. Concerned, Nina asked why, and the guard explained that it was dangerous to have a stray around and that someone might go to extreme measures to remove her.
Determined to protect Nips, Nina welcomed her into her home. It wasn’t long before Nina realized her new companion was pregnant.
Nina said, “It was really good to know that she was with us instead of being a stray dog.”
Keeping Nips in her room was challenging since Nina wasn’t allowed to have pets, but she couldn’t resist sneaking her in—Nips was worth it.
When Nina had to leave for the tournament, she arranged for a pet store with kind-hearted staff to care for Nips while she was away.
A New Life for Nips
As the tournament progressed, Nips went into labor. This inspired Nina to give her best performance, and she ended up winning the tournament.
Nips gave birth to six healthy puppies and proved to be an excellent mother, always tending to her babies. As they grew, the house became more chaotic with the puppies eager to explore and play.
Nina said, “I think the most special thing is that we ended up saving seven lives, and we managed to find them all forever homes.”
Nips, however, will stay with Nina, who is overjoyed to have such a special dog by her side. It’s truly heartwarming to see how everything turned out so wonderfully for them.
