THAI HALL FLORALS, Thailand — For the first time in the history of Thai house florals, a Thai woman is leading the way in the floral revolution.
Thaksin Shin, a 25-year-old fashion designer, was recently appointed as the brand’s ambassador for the Thai market.
“This is the first step of a very big project for me,” said Shin.
“I want to promote the new generation of Thai fashion designers.
I want to be a leader in Thailand.”
She is taking the initiative to inspire younger generations with a new style and look.
“Flower gardens are not the same as flower markets.
They are not about decoration,” said Thaksins sister-in-law, Sukhothai Gokulan.
“Flower markets have flowers.
We want to create a flower garden that is more beautiful and more unique.
The floral garden is for people who want to enjoy a garden that doesn’t look like a garden.”
Thaksin, who is from Pattaya, Thailand, said she wants to encourage young women in Thailand to learn how to design a floral garden.
She hopes to have flower gardens on the streets of Bangkok by 2021.
The new trend in flower gardens has caught the eye of Thai men.
“I am very excited to see this trend,” said the 30-year old designer, who was born in Pattaya.
“It’s important for me to be more conscious of my style.
I don’t want to wear a dress that’s too tight.
I’m trying to look more fashionable.
I need to be bold.”
For her first time, she decided to create her own floral collection.
“It’s really hard for me.
I feel like I’m just wearing a baggy dress,” said Gokulaan.
For now, the flower garden is still being developed.
The design has been inspired by Thai culture and is still in the early stages.
“We’re trying to get it to look like an actual garden, so that people will like it,” said Sukhutak.
